FC Amazonka girls become champions at Piteå Summer Games 2026

FC Amazonka took part in Piteå Summer Games 2026, an international youth football tournament held on June 26–28 in the city of Piteå, Sweden. One of the country's largest youth football competitions, the tournament was held for the 36th time this year and brought together more than 900 teams from 15 countries.

Lutsk was represented by 14 players competing in the Girls 14 C category. A total of 35 teams from four countries competed for the title in this age group.

The team displayed an outstanding level of skill and determination, winning every match of the tournament. During the group stage, the girls defeated Sandåkerns SK (4–1), Munksund/Skuthamns SK (9–1), and IFK Luleå (6–1). They then secured four more victories in the playoff stage. In the final, FC Amazonka faced Sandåkerns SK for the second time and claimed a 1–0 victory to become tournament champions.

Over the course of the competition, FC Amazonka played seven matches, winning all seven, scoring 28 goals and conceding just four. The team was led to this remarkable achievement by coaches Tetiana Pavlik and Olena Khomych.

The team stayed in Piteå from June 22 to 29. The host municipality covered the costs of flights from Warsaw, accommodation, and meals for a group of 20 people, including the players, coaches, a medical staff member, and accompanying parents.

The Lutsk City Territorial Community and the Municipality of Piteå have been cooperating since 2024. Their partnership began with the implementation of a youth policy project and has since expanded into other areas. This was FC Amazonka's second participation in the Piteå tournament. In 2025, Lutsk was successfully represented by the club's 8–10-year-old girls' team.
