Lutsk City Mayor met with champion athletes
Lutsk City Mayor Ihor Polishchuk met with athletes Anastasiia Konovalchuk, Nazar Kostiuk, and Yurii Pasych, who have brought pride to our city and country by excelling at prestigious international competitions.
Anastasiia Konovalchuk and Nazar Kostiuk became winners of the Savate World Cup (French boxing), which took place from October 3 to 5 in Weiz, Austria. Our champions achieved incredible results:
- Anastasiia took 1st place among adults in the 56 kg weight category. She is an Honored Master of Sport of Ukraine.
- Nazar won in the 75 kg weight category, meeting the standard for the title of Master of Sports of Ukraine of International Class.
The athletes were coached by Mykola Mordyk, an Honored Coach of Ukraine in Kickboxing.
From October 17 to 19, the World Pankration Championship took place in Serbia, where Yurii Pasych won a bronze medal in the 66 kg category. Yurii holds the title of Master of Sports of Ukraine in Pankration and MMA, and his coach is Andrii Zinchuk, an Honored Coach of Ukraine in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).
Ihor Polishchuk thanked the athletes for their dedication and perseverance, noting that despite the full-scale war and all the physical and emotional challenges, they continue to train and achieve outstanding results.
“Such people are the pride of our community, as they motivate others by example and show young people what it means to set goals and reach new heights. Professional sports require daily hard work, discipline, and commitment. I wish our champions even greater achievements in the future and a just and lasting peace as soon as possible,” — said Ihor Polishchuk.
He presented the champions with certificates in recognition of their high achievements in sports.
