Lithuanian Seimas Supports Commemorating the 600th Anniversary of the Congress of European Monarchs in Lutsk
Lithuania has drafted a resolution marking the 600th anniversary of the Congress of European Monarchs in Lutsk, which will be commemorated in 2029.
The document provides for joint Ukrainian-Lithuanian events, academic research, and the international promotion of the anniversary. It also proposes supporting the inclusion of this anniversary in UNESCO’s calendar of commemorative anniversaries and exploring opportunities to hold a summit of European leaders in Ukraine in 2029.
“I would like to thank Viacheslav Rublyov, a Member of the Parliament of Ukraine, and Valdas Rakutis, a Member of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, for supporting this important initiative, recognising the shared historical heritage of Ukraine and Lithuania, and helping to promote international recognition of Lutsk’s historical significance,” said Andrii Razumovskyi, Secretary of Lutsk City Council and Acting Mayor of Lutsk.
