Representatives of the International Journalistic Organization “Youth4Media Network e. V.” visit Lutsk
Representatives of the International Journalistic Organization “Youth4Media Network e. V.” are in Lutsk for a two-day visit within the framework of the “Media Dialogue 2025” project.
Project participants met with representatives of the Department of Informational Work of Lutsk City Council, where they exchanged experiences and discussed prospects for further cooperation.
The event was attended by Dr. Wolfgang Ressmann, Chairman of the International Journalistic Organization; Laura Wiedemann, member of Allgäuer Zeitung Mitglied BJV; Wendler Lutz, member of Hamburger Abendblatt; Marina Kraut, member of Allgäuer Zeitung Mitglied BJV; journalists from Armenia, Georgia, and Poland; and Lieutenant Colonel Volodymyr Danyliuks, Senior Officer of the Communications Directorate of the Operational Command West.
At the start of the meeting, Volodymyr Danyliuk emphasized the openness of the Lutsk City Council in matters of cooperation with the media. Last year, for their professionalism and systematic work with journalists covering important topics during wartime, the Department of Informational Work of Lutsk City Council received a Certificate of Appreciation from Brigadier General Volodymyr Shvediuk, Commander of the Operational Command West.
Zhanna Perun, Acting Head of the Department of Informational Work, spoke about the activities of the executive body, particularly the challenges faced in media coverage during the full-scale invasion.
She also discussed cooperation with local and national media, especially in covering war-related events, and noted that Lutsk ranks among the top three cities out of 100 municipalities based on 70 criteria in the city transparency rating during the full-scale war.
As part of the visit, project participants visited the site of a nine-story building that was destroyed by a russian missile.
The delegation also took part in several engaging meetings with journalistic teams, public organizations, and tours of notable landmarks in the city.
Background:
The International Journalistic Organization “Youth4Media Network e. V.”, within the “Media Dialogue 2025” project and with the support of the German Federal Foreign Office, in cooperation with the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, the German Federal Association of Journalists, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, representatives of central legislative and executive authorities, and local self-government bodies, will hold a series of events in Lutsk.
These activities aim to study the functioning of Ukrainian media and local government communication structures under the conditions of the full-scale russian–Ukrainian war, and to share this experience among academics, students, journalists, and communications officers of Ukraine’s Defense Forces, as well as in the media of Germany, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, and EU countries.
