Lutsk City Mayor meets with world and European championship winners – Ivan Poremchuk and Oksana Matrunchyk
Lutsk City Mayor Ihor Polishchuk met with coaches and athletes from the Lutsk community who recently won new honors at world and European-level competitions.
Among those present were Andrii Zinchuk, coach of the “Voin” (“Warrior”) club and an international-class Master of Sports in sambo, and his student Ivan Poremchuk, who became World Champion in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) among youth and adults. The championship took place in Tbilisi, bringing together 600 athletes from 61 countries.
Also attending the meeting was Oleh Khomiak, Honored Coach of Ukraine in powerlifting. His trainee, Oksana Matrunchyk, competed at the European Championship in Valletta, Malta, where she won gold. In the 47 kg category, she lifted 107.5 kg, surpassing her nearest rival from Armenia by 10 kg.
“On behalf of myself and the entire community, I congratulate you on your impressive results. I am sincerely glad that our city was represented at competitions of such a high level. Thank you for your dedication to sport, for finding the strength to train despite these challenging and emotionally difficult times. Keep it up!” – said Ihor Polishchuk.
