Lutsk hosts the 5th veteran business fair “I Could – and So Can You!”

Lutsk hosts the 5th veteran business fair “I Could – and So Can You!”

On June 28, another edition of the veteran business fair “I Could – and So Can You!” took place in Lutsk. The event provided visitors with an opportunity to support Ukrainian veteran entrepreneurs and explore the diverse range of products they create.

The fair showcased a wide variety of unique goods handcrafted by veterans: artisanal chocolates, natural fruit leather, fried ice cream, smoked catfish delicacies, Ukrainian-style tote bags, paintings, clocks and coasters made from epoxy resin, scented candles, icons, jewelry, carnival costumes, and souvenirs crafted from spent shell casings.

Among the visitors were Lutsk City Mayor Ihor Polishchuk, Deputy Mayor Iryna Chebeliuk, and a delegation from the German city of Schweinfurt, led by Oberbürgermeister Sebastian Remelé. Mayor Polishchuk highlighted that this was the largest veteran business fair held to date, with over 50 veteran-owned businesses participating. Veterans from seven regions of Ukraine took part in the event.

“It’s very encouraging to see that the Lutsk Veteran Business Fair continues to attract more and more veterans and their family members each time. It’s also important that the event includes families of fallen soldiers – that has a powerful, positive impact. It’s great to see our fairs evolve from local events into ones of national significance,” said Mayor Polishchuk.

Another key goal of the fair is to strengthen the bonds between veterans, provide moral support, and help reintegrate them into civilian life. The event creates a space for veterans to connect, share their stories, and discuss what motivates and sustains them.

“Our main mission is to promote veteran-owned businesses. Starting something new is incredibly difficult for them. But thanks to fairs like this, they get a chance to communicate, to tell their personal stories – why they started their ventures. Today’s fair even features veteran-founded medical and mental health centers. This just shows how broad the veteran business landscape is, because this fair is, ultimately, about possibilities,” said Oleg Kobylynskyi, Head of the Veterans Policy Department.
