Lutsk delegation pays official visit to Toruń

Lutsk delegation pays official visit to Toruń

From 26–29 June 2026, at the invitation of Mayor of Toruń Paweł Gulewski, representatives of Lutsk City Council paid a working visit to the partner city of Toruń, Poland. The delegation included Yuliia Datsiuk, Deputy Director of the Department of Economic Policy; Tetiana Yanchuk, Deputy Director of the Department for Veterans Policy; and Anastasiia Klushyna, Head of the International Relations Division of the Department of International Cooperation and Project Activities.

The invited guests also included representatives of Toruń's other sister cities: Angers (France), Ferrara (Italy), and Čadca (Slovakia). During the visit, the delegations met with Toruń's city leadership, including the Mayor, the Deputy Mayor, members of the City Council, representatives of the Local Government Diplomacy Office, and specialists in international cooperation.

During the meetings, representatives of the Lutsk community shared their experience in implementing veteran policy, supporting local businesses, and developing international projects. They also discussed prospects for further cooperation with European partners.

Since the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the City of Toruń has repeatedly provided humanitarian assistance to the Lutsk community, including with the support of the City of Angers. Preparations are currently underway for the International Conference "Resilient Cities: Partnership Cooperation in Times of War and Crisis," which will take place in Toruń in October. The conference will focus on the role of partnerships between cities in responding to war, migration crises, and other global challenges.

The visit also included participation by representatives of the sister cities in official events marking Toruń Days and the BellaTOFIFEST. Kujawy i Pomorze International Film Festival. One of Poland's most important and renowned film events, the festival has served for many years as a platform for intercultural dialogue and creative exchange among filmmakers and artists from around the world.

The official visit provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen the partnership between Lutsk and Toruń and to establish new contacts for implementing joint initiatives with European municipalities.
