A delegation from Lutsk visited the partner city of Białystok, Poland
From 19 to 21 June 2026, the partner city of Białystok celebrated its City Days. At the invitation of the Mayor of Białystok, Tadeusz Truskolaski, an official delegation from Lutsk City Council took part in the celebrations.
The delegation included: Iryna Bohdan, Deputy Head of Personnel Department and Head of Human Resources Division; Anastasiia Klushyna, Head of the International Relations Division of the Department of International Cooperation and Project Activities; Oleksandr Mykhalus, Director of the Communal Enterprise “Parks and Squares of Lutsk”.
Representatives from Białystok's sister cities in Latvia, Germany, Senegal, Moldova, and Malta also attended the celebrations.
The visiting delegations participated in guided visits to the Śródmieście Cultural Centre, a municipal institution that organizes cultural and educational activities for local residents and supports children from Ukraine, as well as to the Branicki Palace, a restored architectural landmark that is one of Białystok's symbols and an important part of the region's cultural heritage.
During the visit, the Lutsk delegation also met with representatives of the Białystok City Administration, including Deputy Mayor Marek Masalski and Andrzej Sitko, Director of the Crisis Management Office.
Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Białystok has provided humanitarian assistance to the Lutsk community. Earlier this year, the Białystok City Council approved the transfer of a diesel generator to support Lutsk's humanitarian needs.
The visit concluded with an official reception hosted by the Mayor of Białystok, attended by delegations from all partner cities, representatives of the Białystok City Administration, and members of the city council.
Representatives of the visiting delegations addressed the audience with congratulatory remarks and discussed opportunities for further cooperation with Białystok. The reception concluded with a ceremony honoring the newly designated Honorary Citizens of the City of Białystok.
Background
The cooperation agreement between the cities of Lutsk and Białystok was signed on 22 June 2013.
Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Białystok has provided humanitarian assistance to the Lutsk community, including 13 tonnes of relief supplies.
Lutsk and Białystok are currently implementing an international technical assistance project under the Interreg NEXT Poland–Ukraine 2021–2027 Programme entitled "Safe sewerage for healthy environment: cross-border solutions of Lutsk and Białystok." The lead partner of the project is Municipal Enterprise “Lutskvodokanal”.
