Two kindergartens in the Lutsk community will be heated by a boiler provided by UNICEF

The Lutsk community has received a new high-efficiency condensing gas boiler thanks to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). Within UNICEF’s program aimed at supporting and strengthening Ukraine in responding to children’s needs, it funded the State Communal Enterprise “Lutskteplo” to purchase the boiler and auxiliary equipment for supplying heat and hot water to preschool institutions. The installation and commissioning were carried out by the enterprise’s own staff.

The new heating equipment was inspected on March 10, by Lutsk City Mayor Ihor Polishchuk. The boiler has been installed in a boiler house that serves two kindergartens. The VIESSMANN Vitomax LW hot-water condensing unit, with a nominal thermal capacity of 418 kW, an efficiency (COP) of 105%, and minimal carbon dioxide emissions, replaced an outdated NIISTu-5 boiler with an efficiency of 72%.

“Our long-term cooperation with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) includes, among other things, the upgrading of equipment used for heating our educational institutions. UNICEF provided funds to purchase a new modern, fully automated boiler to heat two kindergartens. For our part, we paid VAT and installation costs. With the new boiler, we will be able to save about 21,000 cubic meters of gas per year, which in financial terms equals half a million hryvnias. However, if gas prices rise, the savings will increase,” the mayor said.
