Lutsk City Mayor met with the Consul General of the Czech Republic in Lviv, Jiří Borcel

Lutsk City Mayor Ihor Polishchuk held a meeting with the new Consul General of the Czech Republic in Lviv, Jiří Borcel.

Ihor Polishchuk spoke about the work of the Lutsk City Council, community life, and the challenges faced under the conditions of full-scale war. He emphasized that Lutsk continues to function, maintaining a balance between supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine, assisting veterans, and keeping the city in proper condition. The Mayor noted that Lutsk focuses particularly on veterans’ rehabilitation. The city hosts one of the largest rehabilitation centers in Ukraine, equipped with a modern medical base, highly qualified doctors, and advanced equipment. 

During the meeting, a number of issues related to possible cooperation in various areas were discussed. Special attention was given to attracting grant funding for projects related to healthcare. Ihor Polishchuk emphasized the importance of such initiatives for improving the city’s medical infrastructure, especially under martial law. Consul General Jiří Borcel expressed his interest in supporting Ukrainian communities and his readiness to assist in finding funding from Czech and European funds.

The meeting became an important step in strengthening the partnership between Ukraine and the Czech Republic. Both sides agreed to continue joint work on specific projects aimed at developing the Lutsk City Territorial Community.
