Educational visit to Lippe District, Germany: exploring innovations, STEM projects, and European experience
A delegation from Lutsk paid a visit to the Lippe District (Federal Republic of Germany) as part of the implementation of the project “Developing STEM-education together: innovative learning in Lippe and Lutsk.” The delegation included representatives of the Department of Education, the Department of International Cooperation and Project Activities of Lutsk City Council, and Lutsk National Technical University. From 10 to 15 November 2025, the delegation was introduced to modern educational approaches, digital technologies, STEM initiatives, and innovative practices applied by German partners.
Representatives of Lutsk visited the Ort der Kinderrechte (Place of Children’s Rights) in the city of Blomberg, where they learned about educational methods based on respect for children’s rights, youth participation, and democratic practices in schools. The center’s play area was designed by children in accordance with their own ideas and wishes. The space is structured in a way that allows children to feel like adults: making decisions, taking responsibility, and practicing democratic skills.

As part of the visit, the delegation also toured Phoenix Contact all electric World, a demonstration park that clearly showcases how technology can help create a society fully powered by renewable energy.

At the Lippe Media Center, participants learned about the organization of the educational process in Lippe District, the school support system, and the integration of digital technologies into education. They were also introduced to the role of the Media Center in teacher professional development, provision of technical equipment to schools, and the creation of modern educational materials.

During a visit to the innovative campus Innovation SPIN, representatives of Lutsk explored laboratories where children acquire practical vocational skills, become familiar with modern equipment, and engage with technologies used in various fields of engineering, science, and digital technologies.

The delegation also visited a careers fair, where students had the opportunity to “try out” different professions and identify the fields in which they would like to develop in the future.
The visit marked the next stage in the implementation of the joint educational project between the Lutsk City Territorial Community and the Lippe District and represented another step toward strengthening their twinning city partnership.
