Lutsk delegation visits rehabilitation facilities in Israel
A delegation from the Municipal Enterprise “Medical Center for Rehabilitation of Participants of Combat Actions Hostilities of Lutsk City Territorial Community” paid a working visit to rehabilitation facilities of the State of Israel. The visit aimed to deepen interinstitutional cooperation in the field of medical rehabilitation, promote professional exchange of experience, and familiarize the delegation with advanced clinical and organizational models of rehabilitation care.
The delegation included the Deputy Director for Human Resources Management and Center specialists directly involved in the provision of rehabilitation services and the development of a multidisciplinary approach, namely: an orthopedic trauma surgeon, an occupational therapist, a physical therapist, and a clinical psychologist.
As part of the visit, the delegation toured leading rehabilitation medical institutions in Israel, in particular the Loewenstein Rehabilitation Hospital, which is one of the flagship centers of rehabilitation medicine. During the stay, a series of working meetings were held with the administration and clinical teams of the institution. The delegation gained in-depth insight into the organization of the rehabilitation process, the role of multidisciplinary teams, modern approaches to the recovery of patients with severe injuries, neurological and orthopedic conditions, as well as practices for the long-term reintegration of patients into active life.
In addition, the delegation from Lutsk made a working visit to Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem, accompanied by the First Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine in the State of Israel, Roman Koruzhynets.
The delegation obtained an overall overview of the clinic’s key areas of activity, including the organization of rehabilitation units, the work of multidisciplinary teams, early rehabilitation, technological solutions, and patient pathways.
A particularly important aspect for the delegation representatives was the practical component of the visit, which included professional discussions, analysis of clinical cases, and consideration of possibilities for adapting certain models and methodologies to the conditions of the Ukrainian healthcare system, taking into account the challenges caused by the war and the growing need for rehabilitation services for military personnel and civilians.
In turn, the delegation delivered presentations and reports on the activities of the Municipal Enterprise “Medical Center for Rehabilitation of Participants of Combat Actions Hostilities of Lutsk City Territorial Community,” as well as on rehabilitation approaches applied at the Center and within the Lutsk community as a whole.
Background information:
The first educational and familiarization visit to rehabilitation centers in Israel, aimed at learning from experience in the field of rehabilitation medicine, took place in 2022 at the initiative of the Lutsk City Mayor. Participants included representatives of Lutsk City Council and medical professionals from the Lutsk community. The study visit was organized with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in the State of Israel.
