An international project “Enterprising Children 2026” has launched in Lutsk

The international project “Enterprising Children 2026” was officially launched at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University. This initiative has been implemented in the Lutsk City Territorial Community since 2022 in cooperation with Lublin City Council and Maria Curie-Skłodowska University.

The project aims to teach children aged 6 to 10 the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and business, introduce them to successful large enterprises and individual entrepreneurs within the community, and familiarize them with the area’s economic development and potential. In the long term, it is expected to contribute to increased entrepreneurial activity among graduates entering the labor market after completing their studies.

The project brings together Lutsk City Council, Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, and educational institutions of the Lutsk City Territorial Community. Through its multifaceted approach, the authors seek to enhance economic literacy among the younger generation and foster creativity, courage, communication skills, and teamwork among pupils and university students.

On the occasion of the new season’s launch, Małgorzata Chojak from the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, the author of the initiative, addressed project participants and partners with a video message. The Rector of Volyn National University, Anatolii Tsios, and the Deputy Mayor of Lutsk, Iryna Chebeliuk, also congratulated those present on the launch of the “Enterprising Children” project.

“Today we are launching our favorite project. Many remember the difficulties we faced when it first began in 2022 and how, despite everything, we managed to implement it. Over time, the project has evolved, but its essence has remained the same. The participants are our children, who may become entrepreneurs in the future, and our students, who both study and simultaneously teach our children.

There is also a third important side: the business community of Lutsk. Without it, pupils and teachers would not have a place to apply their knowledge in practice. Many thanks to everyone who agreed to participate in the project. When our children visit enterprises, they always return with incredible emotions. They gain a wealth of impressions, and many of them continue to develop the business ideas that were initiated and inspired by entrepreneurs,” emphasized Iryna Chebeliuk.

The 2026 project involves pupils in grades 1–4 from Lutsk community lyceums No. 3, 4, 11, 18, 20, 22, 25, 26, 27, and 32. Project partners include the companies “Modern-Expo,” “Edelvika,” “VPG Ruta,” “Tigres,” “Zabijaka,” “Felicita,” as well as the branch of Ukreximbank JSC and the branch of JSC CB PrivatBank.
