Representatives of the Lutsk City Council took part in the All-Ukrainian Forum of Local Self-Government

How to strengthen the resilience of cities and ensure the vital functioning of territorial communities in Ukraine was the key topic discussed by representatives of local self-government bodies, the government, regional authorities, experts, and international partners at the All-Ukrainian Forum of Local Self-Government, held within the framework of the Ukrainian Cities Resilience Week currently taking place in Lviv. The event is supported by the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ), the Embassy of Germany in Ukraine, and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), which implements transitional assistance projects for development in Ukraine.

On the second day of the Forum, the Lutsk City Council was represented by Yurii Kyryliuk, Head of the Department of Emergency Situations and Civil Protection of the Population, and Olena Barska, Head of the Organizational Department.


During the panel discussions, which featured speakers such as Marta Kos, EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Aliona Shkrum, First Deputy Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, Andriy Sadovyi, Mayor of Lviv, Regina Kharchenko, Acting Mayor and Secretary of the Zaporizhzhia City Council, as well as deputy mayors from cities in Ukraine, and directors of critical infrastructure enterprises and emergency response sectors, participants discussed ways to strengthen municipal capacities in crisis management and risk preparedness, the implementation of digital solutions for effective urban development, the restoration and reinforcement of critical infrastructure, and the development of intermunicipal cooperation and experience exchange.
