Lutsk hosts "Weeks of Good Deeds" Volunteer Forum
The volunteer forum "Weeks of Good Deeds" has started in Lutsk. Organized as part of an international initiative with support from the Lutsk City Council, the forum brought together representatives from public organizations, volunteers, businesses, and local authorities. The event was hosted by Lutsk National Technical University, which invited participants to hold the forum within its premises.
Deputy Mayor Iryna Chebeliuk participated in the event. She expressed her pleasure to see many individuals with whom the Lutsk City Council has collaborated over the years in volunteer activities and initiatives. She emphasized the joint efforts to support the country, those in need, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. She acknowledged the contributions of those who have chosen this path, enabling life and work in relatively peaceful Lutsk. Iryna Chebeliuk encouraged continued collaboration and resilience in pursuing the shared goal of victory, wishing volunteers strength, endurance, and patience.
Zaryna Datsyk, Head of the Youth Policy Division of the Youth and Sports Department, highlighted the Lutsk City Council's support and promotion of volunteering in the community. This includes the creation of a Volunteer Development Assistance Program, support for initiatives through city programs, training for city council employees, and the "Volunteering" section on the city council's website. In 2024, the second Volunteer Initiatives Forum was organized, the project "Volunteers: Known and Unknown Stories" was launched, and the hub "Vilni Volyni" was established, among other initiatives.
Project coordinator Sabina Nikitenko explained that "Weeks of Good Deeds" is an international project that has united people for many years with the common goal of making the world better through good deeds. In 2025, Lutsk City Territorial Community joined this initiative, becoming part of a network of cities where similar forums are held. The event in Lutsk aims not only to promote volunteering but also to engage as many people as possible in charitable and social projects.
The event served not just as a platform for discussions but also as a space for networking, experience sharing, and the initiation of new partnerships. Participants had the opportunity to present their projects, discuss challenges in the volunteer movement, and find ways to implement social initiatives. Local volunteers spoke at the forum, sharing their journeys and the challenges faced in this field.
Participants discussed current issues in the development of the volunteer movement, particularly the importance of cooperation among people, authorities, and businesses. Special attention was given to supporting those in need and promoting volunteering among youth. The forum became a source of inspiration for new ideas and projects that will contribute to community development.
