Lutsk ambassadors in action!

The Korsaks' Museum of Contemporary Ukrainian Art, founded by Honorary Ambassador of Lutsk Viktor Korsak, has been recognized as one of Europe’s best museums by the prestigious European Museum of the Year Award 2025 (EMYA)!

The museum received one of seven Special Commendations, a high distinction awarded by EMYA 2025. This honor underscores Lutsk’s growing status as a significant hub of contemporary art in Europe.
The Korsaks' Museum was the only Ukrainian institution among 42 nominees from 18 countries, reflecting the outstanding quality of its exhibitions and its contribution to international cultural dialogue.

“The second Special Commendation goes to a museum committed to rediscovering forgotten artists and encouraging critical reflection on how totalitarian regimes have shaped artistic vision. Its exhibitions invite visitors to consider the essential role of art in society, as well as its power to nurture freedom of thought and diverse perspectives. The museum places strong emphasis on accessibility and preserving cultural identity, something especially vital in today’s geopolitical climate, while also actively promoting and supporting contemporary artistic creation in a time of global uncertainty,” said EMYA jury member Joan Segui, as he presented the award to the museum team.

In January 2025, Viktor Korsak was awarded the title “Honorary Ambassador of Lutsk”, a status granted through an initiative led by the Lutsk City Council’s Department of Tourism and Promotion of the City, aimed at building and sustaining a positive image of the city and its community. Honorary Ambassadors help promote Lutsk through their personal credibility, achievements, and professionalism.
Congratulations to the museum team! The city is proud of your accomplishments, and we thank Honorary Ambassador Viktor Korsak for representing Lutsk on the European stage with such distinction!
