Lutsk delegation visits partner city of Chełm, Poland
From 3 to 5 July 2026, the partner city of Chełm, Poland, celebrated its City Days. At the invitation of Mayor Jakub Banaszek, an official delegation from Lutsk City Council visited Chełm to take part in the celebrations and hold meetings with representatives of the Chełm City Administration to discuss future cooperation and exchange experience.
The delegation included Olena Barska, Head of the Organisational Department; Oksana Solokha, Head of the Administrative Division of the Administrative Services Centre Department of Lutsk City Council; and Maksym Denys, Senior Specialist of the Extracurricular and Vocational Education Division of the Department of Education.
As part of the visit, the delegation held official meetings with representatives of the Chełm City Administration, including First Deputy Mayor Radosław Wnuk and Second Deputy Mayor Dorota Cieślik.
During the meetings, the delegation presented the activities and priorities of the Lutsk City Territorial Community, discussed prospects for expanding cooperation between the two communities, and invited Chełm's representatives to the events marking the 600th anniversary of the Congress of European Monarchs in Lutsk.
In addition to Lutsk, representatives of Chełm's other partner cities – Kovel (Ukraine) and Utena (Lithuania), also participated in the celebrations.
As part of the programme, the delegations visited the town of Włodawa, where they toured the town centre, Market Square, and its historic architecture. They also visited the Sobibór Museum and Memorial, dedicated to preserving the memory of the victims of Nazi crimes.
During their stay in Chełm, the delegation also learned about the city's project to build a modern football stadium, providing an opportunity to exchange experience in the development of municipal sports infrastructure.
The visit marked another important step in strengthening the partnership between Lutsk and Chełm.

The partnership agreement between the cities of Lutsk and Chełm was signed on 31 May 2014.
