Lutsk City Council delegation visited Trakai District Municipality in Lithuania

From May 30 to June 1, 2025, a delegation from Lutsk City Council took part in events on the occasion of the traditional Trakai City Festival. The visit took place at the invitation of Andrius Šatevičius, Mayor of the Trakai District Municipality (Republic of Lithuania), and included meetings with local government officials.
During meetings, the parties discussed plans for continuing and expanding their partnership under the conditions of wartime and the future post-war recovery in Ukraine. The delegation also expressed sincere gratitude to the Trakai community for its support of Lutsk residents during these difficult times – Trakai District has sent humanitarian aid to Lutsk, including medical supplies.

In addition, the Lutsk delegation attended the traditional local event “Trakai Summer 2025,” where they met with representatives from communities of Poland, Germany, Turkey, Georgia, and Greece – countries that also have twin-city ties with Lutsk. The delegations shared their visions for intermunicipal cooperation and collaboration.

The partnership between Lutsk and Trakai, officially established in 2010, continues to grow, in areas such as the protection of historical heritage in both regions through strategic planning for sustainable development and the use of creative promotional tools.

As a sign of solidarity with the people of Ukraine in their fight for sovereignty and independence, blue-and-yellow Ukrainian flags have been raised on municipal buildings, private homes, and in public spaces throughout the district.
