A specialized vehicle delivered to Lutsk emergency service

Mayor Ihor Polishchuk handed over a Mercedes-Benz Vito ambulance vehicle to the Lutsk District Department of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Volyn Oblast.

We received two such vehicles as humanitarian aid from the Lippe District (Germany) back in November of last year. One of them had previously been transferred to SES units.

The second vehicle was handed over for rescue officers as part of the “Community Rescue Officer” project. Four such officers are assigned to the Lutsk community. They will ensure the implementation of civil protection measures and respond effectively to a wide range of threats to the population and critical infrastructure during emergencies. This specialized vehicle will help rescuers handle complex situations.

The vehicle was manufactured in 2018 and has a special configuration that includes additional extrication equipment, a seat for a rescuer, an independent climate control unit, an autonomous heating system, storage compartments for equipment and materials, flashing emergency lights, and siren sound signals.

Lutsk City Mayor Ihor Polishchuk thanked the partners from the Lippe District, particularly the organization Brückenschlag Ukraine, which has supported the community for many years by providing humanitarian aid to people affected by the war and supporting cultural and educational initiatives, including student internships and youth exchange programs.

“In the event of an emergency, these vehicles will be used to rescue people and provide pre-medical assistance during road accidents, water rescues, chemical and radiation incidents, and searches for missing persons in forests and swampy areas. However, I sincerely hope that there will be as few such emergencies as possible,” the mayor noted.
