Representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania visit Lutsk
Secretary of Lutsk City Council Kateryna Shkloda and First Deputy Mayor Iryna Chebeliuk met with representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to Ukraine, who visited Lutsk to assess the feasibility of implementing a reconstruction project in one of Lithuania's priority areas ahead of the commemoration of the 600th anniversary of the Congress of European Monarchs.
The Lithuanian delegation included: Inga Stanytė-Toločkienė, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Ukraine; Darius Skusevičius, Ambassador-at-Large for Ukraine's Reconstruction at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania; Aistė Bertulytė-Žikevičienė, Director of the Development Cooperation Department at the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Artūras Žarnovskis, Head of the Lithuanian Co-create Future of Ukraine Programmes at Lithuania's Central Project Management Agency; Agnė Joana Skaistytė, Minister-Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to Ukraine; Danielė Rožėnaitė, Third Secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to Ukraine; Rūta Valaitytė, Project Manager at Lithuania's Central Project Management Agency. The delegation was accompanied by Serhii Martyniak, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Lithuania in Lutsk.
During the meeting, the participants discussed strengthening institutions in preparation for Ukraine's future membership in the European Union, as well as issues related to safe and high-quality education, physical and psychosocial rehabilitation and reintegration of people affected by the war, energy, transport, and other areas.
Secretary of Lutsk City Council Kateryna Shkloda welcomed the delegation to the Lutsk community and noted that despite the ongoing war, the city continues to function and develop because maintaining economic activity remains essential. She informed the guests about community resilience centers, preparations for the winter, energy-saving initiatives, and the work of rehabilitation centers within the community. She also emphasized that Lutsk is preparing to commemorate the major historical milestone of the 600th anniversary of the Congress of European Monarchs and is ready to attract grant funding.
