Lutsk endures largest enemy attack since start of war
At dawn, Lutsk experienced the largest enemy attack since the beginning of the war. The city was attacked by 15 enemy drones and 6 missiles. Strikes hit a residential building, as well as other buildings and an educational institution.
All emergency services immediately responded to the scene and provided residents with essential assistance. Lutsk City Mayor Ihor Polishchuk, and Head of the Volyn Regional (Military) Administration Ivan Rudnytskyi arrived alongside rescuers, law enforcement, medical personnel, and volunteers.
Rescue workers are currently carrying out evacuation efforts and extinguishing fires. People have been moved to safe locations, and more than five pets have been rescued from damaged and destroyed apartments.
There were reports of people injured and missing. "Points of resilience," psychological support stations, and a Red Cross tent have been set up in the courtyard. All necessary assistance and shelter are being provided so that no one is left on the street. Generators are running to charge devices.
The building is made of concrete panels, which complicates debris removal. However, work is ongoing. Unfortunately, two people are currently listed as missing, so rescue efforts are focused on determining whether they might be trapped under the rubble. Consultations with construction specialists are underway, as the building is quite old and has structural specifics,
In total, about 2,000 windows have been damaged across the city, along with several residential buildings and utility structures. Vehicles have also been destroyed.
At the scene, where a nine-story building was damaged, city council workers are present in a tent to provide all necessary consultations.
