City council representatives visited Tauragė District, Lithuania
From June 4 to 7, 2026, the partner city of Tauragė hosted the annual "Tauro Ragas 2026" celebration marking the city's 519th anniversary. At the invitation of Tauragė District Mayor Dovydas Kaminskas, an official delegation from Lutsk City Council took part in the festivities. The delegation included Vasyl Lishchuk, Head of the Capital Construction Department; Vladyslav Ishchyk, Senior Specialist, Legal Counsel of the Court Representation Division of the Law Department; and Anastasiia Klushyna, Head of the International Relations Division of the Department of International Cooperation and Project Activities.
At the Tauragė District Municipality, the delegation met with municipal leadership and members of the district council. During the meeting, the Mayor of Tauragė District presented the municipality's strategic development vision through 2030. One of the key priorities is creating favorable living conditions for young families to encourage them to live and work in the district. Other major priorities include supporting education, sports and culture, developing sustainable infrastructure, and engaging businesses in addressing the community's current needs.

The visiting delegations, which included representatives from Ukraine (Lutsk and Ternopil), Poland (Ostróda, Bytów and Bełchatów), Germany (Riedstadt), France (Brienne-le-Château), and Lithuania, also participated in study visits to the Generations Park (Kartų parkas), a project implemented jointly with the residents of Tauragė District; the construction site of the new Multifunctional Sports and Cultural Centre; and the Norkaičiai Craft Centre.


The visit concluded with an official reception at Tauragė Castle attended by municipal leaders and all visiting delegations. During the event, representatives of the sister cities delivered congratulatory remarks and shared the results of their partnership and cooperation with Tauragė District.


Background
The cooperation agreement between Lutsk City Territorial Community and Tauragė District Municipality was signed on October 19, 2023.
As part of this partnership, the Tauragė District Municipality has organized summer camps in Tauragė for several consecutive years for children from families of veterans from the Lutsk City Territorial Community. Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Tauragė District has also repeatedly provided humanitarian assistance to support the needs of the Lutsk community.
