Lutsk — Schweinfurt: another meeting to strengthen cooperation

Lutsk — Schweinfurt: another meeting to strengthen cooperation

Secretary of Lutsk City Council Kateryna Shkloda and First Deputy Mayor of Lutsk Iryna Chebeliuk held a video call with former Lord Mayor of the German city of Schweinfurt, Sebastian Remelé, and newly elected Lord Mayor Ralf Hofmann to discuss the results and future prospects of cooperation within the partnership between Lutsk and Schweinfurt.

Bogdan Volchok, head of PJSC “SKF Ukraine,” also joined the conversation, as cooperation between the two cities was established with the support of this company in order to simplify the transportation of humanitarian aid.

Kateryna Shkloda congratulated Ralf Hofmann on his election to the new position and wished him productive and successful work.

“It is a great pleasure to meet you. I am grateful for the assistance you have provided to our city over the past several years. I understand the current situation in the world, when it is becoming increasingly difficult to provide humanitarian aid to other countries, as everyone is trying to concentrate resources within their own borders due to global instability. It is very important for us not to feel alone on our battlefield and to receive support during such a difficult time for Ukraine,” she said, thanking the German partners for their assistance.

In turn, Ralf Hofmann noted that he had served for many years as a member of the city council and was therefore fully aware of the close cooperation between the cities.

“I promise that our partnership will only continue to grow. And I sincerely thank you for standing on the front line not only for yourselves, but also for us and for all of Europe,” he emphasized.

It should be recalled that the partnership agreement between the cities of Lutsk and Schweinfurt was signed on July 16, 2023.
